  • Stillwater, MN - The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce Foundation (Chamber Foundation) will be hosting the Lumberjack Days Parade this year on Sunday, July 20th, 2025, in partnership with the City of Stillwater and the Lumberjack Day’s organizers. The parade is part of the annual, multi-day Lumberjack Days event, held this year on July 18-20, 2025.

The Chamber Foundation is pleased to announce the 2025 Lumberjack Parade Grand Marshal is Chuck Dougherty, owner of Water Street Inn. Charles “Chuck” Dougherty is a prominent figure in Stillwater, known for his significant contributions to the local hospitality industry and community development. Alongside his wife, Judy, Chuck has been the owner and operator of the historic Water Street Inn since 1995.

This year marks the 30th Anniversary of Chuck’s ownership of the Water Street Inn.

Chuck's commitment to preserving and celebrating Stillwater's heritage is evident in his efforts to restore and expand the Water Street Inn. The inn, originally constructed in 1890 as The Lumber Exchange Building, has been transformed into a premier destination that honors its historical roots while offering modern amenities.

Beyond his role at the inn, Chuck is actively involved in the community. He serves as the Board Chair of the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Oak Park Heights City Council. His dedication to local tourism is further demonstrated through his participation on the Stillwater/Oak Park Heights Convention & Visitors Bureau Board of Directors as well as the owner (along with wife Judy) of the Cover Park Manor Bed & Breakfast.

Chuck Dougherty's enduring impact on Stillwater is reflected in his dedication to preserving the city's history, enhancing its hospitality offerings, and actively participating in civic initiatives, making him a wonderful Grand Marshal for the 2025 Lumberjack Days parade.

Chuck and Judy will lead the Parade as Grand Marshals. The LumberJack Days Parade will start at 11:00 a.m., with parade units following the original parade route. “We’re honored to be a part of this special tradition and are excited for another year of families, friends and celebrations along the parade route,” said Robin Anothony-Evenson, President of the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce and its Foundation. “With over 100 parade units, it will be a jam-packed day celebrating all things summer in Stillwater,” she continues.
