May 29, 2019. Stillwater, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce welcome new member Papa John’s at a ribbon cutting celebration on May 15, 2019. The event took place at 1501 Stillwater Blvd N, Stillwater. Papa John’s owners, staff, family, Chamber Ambassadors and staff were there to join in the celebration. The pizza joint has been open since January 28th, 2019, yes, just in time for the Superbowl.

Papa John’s is known for their fresh ingredients and also have gluten-free options, and the customer service at this location is on-point. One of the first questions asked of John Christopherson at the Ribbon Cutting event was, does you name have to be John to own a Papa John’s? He chuckled and replied, “No, but having that name was one of the reasons that I wanted to open one.” The Stillwater location is family owned and operated, by that we mean, John is opening the store and June is closing it every day, and their sons work alongside them. They chose the site because of the great location, and the building had been a prior home to a Papa John’s Pizza.

John, June, their three boys, and John's parents, who are big supporters of the couples endeavors, have lived in the valley area for years, but have been loving Stillwater since the 1980’s. The owners not only run a business, but juggle raising their boys, Gabe (14) is on the Autism spectrum, Nathan (16) will be getting his learners permit this summer, and Kevin (20) is a cancer survivor. Needless to say, these are people who have been through a lot, and have risen to the occasion. The two are also huge community supporters, working with both Rise and the Stillwater Area High School to employ the disabled, donating to local shelters or other organizations in need,  and donated to the volunteers sandbagging during our spring flood. For our public safety community, a program called Pizza & Police, or Fire was started, which is a discount on pizza, as a thank you for their service, and this year they donated 60 gift certificates to the Stillwater Police Dept Bike Safety Rodeo.
