June 2018. Bayport, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce welcomed new member, Bayport Community Action League with a ribbon cutting celebration on June 18th. The event took place at Village Green Park in the center of Bayport, surrounded by the Farmer’s Market, which is one of the many community happenings organized by BCAL. BCAL members and families proudly cut the ribbon with Chamber Ambassadors and Staff and fellow market-goers buzzing about. Bayport Community Action League has been around for years assisting and organizing many a community event for the town of Bayport to enjoy. BCAL focuses on bringing community together and enhancing lives in the little riverside town. There are many volunteers through BCAL and they are focused on the here and now in their community with the development of tomorrow at hand. You can feel the energy of this passionate people for their community and the city of Bayport.
BCAL is a civic-minded group of local volunteers and business owners. They are constantly on the move celebrating and relishing in the history, character and value their community has to offer. Creating new opportunities through community programs and events is plentiful and includes the annual Easter Egg Hunt, Earth Day celebrations, organizing the City-Wide Garage Sale, The Ice Cream Social in conjunction with the Bayport Library summer reading kick-off, Farmer’s Market every Monday from June to October. They also host events such as; Derby Days in September, featuring a medallion hunt, the world-famous Duck Derby, free music, face painting and crazy hair, and the “best fireworks show in the valley”. The annual Lighting of the Green plans and sponsors the town’s holiday lights, and ceremoniously lights up Bayport for the holiday season. This event also includes a party full of fun with food, music, community building, and of course, Santa.
BCAL truly strives to make Bayport impactful in opportunity and growth, rich in history and community, and a beautiful little city to live, work, play, shop, and visit. Congratulations to all volunteers and neighbors doing good work through Bayport Community Action League.
