Stillwater, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce welcomed the refresh of local business,  Mad Capper, to the Chamber and the community with a ribbon cutting celebration on October 28, 2021. The event took place at 224 South Main Street, Stillwater, MN.  Mad Capper owner Sara Jespersen, her family, elected officials, city administrators, Greater Stillwater Chamber ambassadors, and staff were there to join in the celebration.

Owners Sara and Nathan Jespersen are always up for adventure and create a welcoming environment no matter the industry in which they work. After celebrating 40 years of the Chilson’s owning the Mad Capper, they sold to the Jespersens in August of 2021. Sara has given the restaurant a “refresh honoring and showcasing the vintage hats that have been collected over the years, and swanky headshots of local leaders who make Stillwater what it is today.”  She also creates a warm family feel with one large TV, instead of a few TV’s so “we can all watch the game together.” Jespersen, who won the community award for 2021 Volunteer of the  Year exudes warmth all the while successfully running both Mad Capper and The Lumberjack just down the street. She credits her ambition to the wonderful staff she surrounds herself with as well as a family of entrepreneurs.

Whether you visit for the piano bar, a sports game, to catch up with friends, or grab a quick bite to eat, you will be welcomed like family.  Utilizing fresh ingredients, and homemade meals with Italian flare Jespersen nurtures her clientele and hopes you stop in soon for delicious sandwiches, fresh made pasta, and scratch made dinner options.  Stop in to try the new menu or check out an old favorite. Happy Hour is weekdays from 2-5pm, and opens daily at 11:00am. Mad Capper is closed Mondays.
