Stillwater, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce welcomed local business
La Vie Est Belle to the Chamber and the community with a ribbon cutting celebration on October 13, 2021. The event took place at 113 Main Street S., Stillwater, MN with owner Kristin Rohman Rehkamp, her family, friends, Greater Stillwater Chamber ambassadors and staff. 

When Rehkamp’s healthy, happy 12-year-old daughter suddenly experienced a panic attack on September 16, 2020 she was consequently hospitalized for nearly two months or a total of three ER visits and three extended hospital stays.  Their life, path forward and perspective changed suddenly and without warning.  Kristin had to pivot her career to stay-at-home mom, and care provider to their oldest daughter.  While her family slept she quietly created La Vie Est Belle.  

La Vie Est Belle is an online storefront locally based in Lake Elmo, MN with a mission to inspire giving and beautiful living with unique gifts, home decor and adorable items to delight baby and kids. In honor of their beautiful daughter and all others courageously living with a mental illness, 20% of their net profits are donated to non-profit organizations raising awareness and transforming care for children, adolescents, adults and families experiencing a mental health condition.  These individuals and families are some of the bravest people they know.

In addition, the family advocates for children’s mental health by providing a platform to openly discuss and support the struggles and the beauty of living with mental illness.  Kristin proudly serves on the PrairieCare Fund (PCF) Board of Directors.  “La vie est belle” is a French expression meaning “life is beautiful”.   It is about choosing your own path to happiness and inspiring others.
