Curio Dance’s new location with a ribbon-cutting celebration on September 4th, 2024. The event took place at 1655 Washington Avenue in Stillwater, MN with Patricia Schaber, her daughter Giselle Mejia, her son Dario Mejia, and his wife Caitlin Mejia.  They were supported by Curio board members, current and former students, friends, supporters, Greater Stillwater Chamber ambassadors and staff. 

Curio Dance is a local, family owned and operated business in the heart of Stillwater.  After opening nine years ago, they have built a new, beautiful, permanent home with Harlequin Flooring, natural lighting, room for storage and laundry, and beautiful views of nature.  This dance company was created by a family who has performed on stages all over the world, yet chose Stillwater as their home to share their love of creating, celebrating and nurturing a limitless love of dance.

The mission of Curio Dance is to harness the power of learning, to fuel and ignite the passion of artistic performance for dancers of all abilities.  Their vision is to be recognized globally for creating, celebrating and nurturing a limitless love of dance. Their choreography crosses genres of dance by combining styles of concert and street dance; ballet, modern, tap, contemporary, hip hop and latin dance.

 A curio is a unique artifact - Curio Dance believes that each dancer brings their own gifts to be explored and celebrated.  They offer classes in both recreational dance and performance divisions.  The aim in all classes is to nurture each dancer's individual talents and hard work in a positive environment, while improving confidence and teaching poise and respect.  All dancers are encouraged to share their gifts and talents with the community through dance performances.
