Chamber Welcomes Jersey Mikes Subs with a Ribbon Cutting

Franchisee Alicia Beimert cut the ribbon at the Chamber ribbon cutting celebration on November 6th, 2024.  

Stillwater, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce celebrated local business Jersey Mikes Subs Stillwater with a ribbon cutting celebration on November 6th, 2024. The event took place at 1754 Market Drive Suite #100, in Stillwater, MN with Franchise Owners: Ben and Emma Schlotfeldt and Alicia Beimert, their staff, friends, Greater Stillwater Chamber ambassadors and staff. 

Mike opened up his first submarine sandwich shop on the boardwalk on the shore in New Jersey in 1956.  This sandwich was a relatively new concept and it was an instant success as families lined up for the delicious food and friendly service!  Mike would learn people’s names and the locals and vacationers alike would come back week after week and summer after summer to enjoy the fresh delicious subs.

In 1975,  a young man named Peter who loved working at Mike’s, procured a loan from his football coach after hearing Mike wanted to sell the sandwich shop.  Peter began expanding the Mike’s subs locally and everywhere he went people would line up around the block for the fresh sandwiches.  Peter Cancro is still the CEO of Jersey Mikes Franchise Systems Inc, and oversees more than 2,800 locations!

The sandwiches still have onion, lettuce, tomato, vinegar, oil and spices atop the freshest, best quality meats and cheeses sliced to order, and built in front of you on freshly baked bread.  The recipe hasn't changed nor have the followers or lines out the door.  Aren't we lucky to have a Jersey Mike’s Sub Shop in Stillwater!  They value community partnership, lifting up their staff and making incredible subs with outstanding customer service!
