October 2018. Stillwater, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce celebrated with Smart Start Child Care and Learning Center for their major expansion and remodel, along with the addition of an indoor gym on October 16th, 2018. The gathering to celebrate the growth of the learning center brought with Chamber Ambassadors, board members and staff, community leaders, friends and clients of Smart Start, and a bunch of furry friends with a full-on traveling petting zoo! The celebration started with a tour of the facility and classrooms and then moved outside to the new outdoor playground to meet a variety of creatures with the petting zoo, watch the kids play, and enjoy snacks and refreshments.
Smart Start Childcare and Learning Center recently remodeled their indoor and outdoor spaces from the original approximate 5,000 square feet to a dynamic 12,000 square feet, over doubling in size to service the needs of their facility. Originally, Smart Start had a total of four classrooms and with the expansion, they now are teaching in eight classrooms. The new indoor gym provides another venue for year-round activities for all the extra energies to run and play. The facility has a fresh and neutral design, leaving ample space for colorfully displayed works of art created by their many bustling tiny attendees. The subdued tones allow for a calming environment in the childcare building, says Gina. The more neutral palette encourages a child’s creativity and stimulation to be focused on the activities and art rather than the walls and furniture.
