The story of Käthe Wohlfahrt's beginnings has been introduced to the American public through various publications, including newspapers and magazines, drawing the interest of people throughout the country. The story is a fascinating study of what some might call coincidence and what others might call ''what was meant to be?.
Come with us to visit the home of a German family on Christmas Eve. Our attention first focuses on an Advent wreath with four lit candles. The children have opened the last door of their Advent calendar, and the Christmas tree, festively decorated with shiny glass balls, hand painted wood and pewter ornaments and shimmering Christmas lights, is hidden behind closed doors.
The peaceful and romantic Tauber River Valley is the home of Käthe Wohlfahrt's Christmas Workshop, the Rothenburger Weihnachtswerkstatt. In this place of tranquility and contemplativeness, creativity and imaginativeness is developed. Here, the original models of many wonderful pieces are made from Käthe Wohlfahrt.
