The Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act allocated $350 billion to help small businesses keep workers employed amid the pandemic and economic downturn.
Known as the Paycheck Protection Program, the initiative provides 100% federally guaranteed loans to small businesses.
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Ethan Hellier, Manager, Midwest Region will provide a summary of the legislation and share details how small businesses and self-employed individuals may prepare to file for a loan.
Ethan Hellier is manager of the Midwest Region in the Congressional and Public Affairs Division at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Hellier helps develop and implement the Chamber’s grassroots, legislative, and political activities in the region.
Before joining the Chamber, Hellier worked for the Minnesota House of Representatives as the committee legislative assistant for the Education Policy Committee and the Taxes Committee, as well as a communications specialist in the Republican media department.
He also worked for and volunteered for multiple campaigns in Minnesota.
Hellier graduated from St. John’s University (Collegeville, Minnesota) with a Bachelor of Arts in political science. He lives in Prior Lake, Minnesota, with his wife, Kelly and dog, Wrigley.Date and Time
