Long Lake Birding Tour 2026
-
Join Sustainable Stillwater MN’s Bird City Stillwater and the Brown’s Creek Watershed District's Community Advisory Committee for a guided morning birding tour around Long Lake. Spring migration makes this a perfect time to spot water birds and learn more about the important role birds play in our local ecosystems. Participants will walk along the paved trail on the west side of Long Lake while local guides help identify birds in the water and sky. Along the way, we’ll also discuss bird behaviors, the history of Long Lake, surrounding plants, and how these species connect to the lake’s ecosystem. This relaxed, educational outing is open to community members of all ages and experience levels. Whether you’re an experienced birder or simply curious about the wildlife around you, it’s a great way to enjoy nature and learn something new. Bring binoculars or a spotting scope if you have one. Meeting Location: End of 62nd St N in Stillwater, just past the intersection of 62nd St N & Legend Blvd (south of the Legends neighborhood).
