Chamber Welcomes Rustic Roots Winery as a new member

Stillwater, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce welcomed business, Rustic Roots Winery, to the Chamber with a ribbon cutting celebration on June 10, 2021. The event took place at 20168 St. Croix Trail N., in Scandia MN. Rustic Roots owners and staff, Greater Stillwater Chamber ambassadors, members and staff were there to join in the celebration.

Opened since September 2020, Rustic Roots is a winery and tasting room offering approachable, flavor-forward wines in a downhome setting. Greg and Andrea Sandager purchased the land in July of 2019 where a home resided - the idea was to remodel the home to open as a winery and tasting room. They were looking for ways to bring more people to the area and the idea evolved into a beautiful setting that features 13 acres (11,000 vines) of grapes, a spacious tasting room that also serves a delicious menu of appetizers.  Outside you will find a few different seating areas featuring food trucks, and live music is a highlight on Sunday afternoons.

“It turns out that people will drive a ways for Wine!” says Greg, “We have had a tremendous response since we opened!”  

Their name stems from “Rustic” referring to the homey feel they wanted and “Roots” not only with the grapevines, but their roots in the community.  They have already won top awards for their first vintage!  With plans to expand their acreage for vines, Rustic Roots has their roots firmly planted for years to come!
