Join us on Saturday, April 11, for two public matinee performances at the Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson — at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. This isn't a shortened version of an opera for adults — it's an entirely new work we commissioned for young audiences, built around Mozart's most beloved melodies.
Adapted by Jeffrey Madison, The Magic Flute & The Lost Prince for Kids takes the characters you know — Papageno, Tamino, the Queen of the Night — and places them inside an original story written just for children. A prince who ran away because he didn't feel brave enough. A bird-catcher who just wants a real friend. And a queen whose loneliness turned into something darker — until kindness brings her back. It's funny, it's musical, it's interactive, and the themes kids carry home — courage, friendship, empathy, forgiveness — are ones that matter.
