DESCRIPTION:The Sisters of St. Joseph have been offering help and hope throughout the world for more than 350 years. The Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet\, St. Paul Province\, built the first schools and hospitals where there were none. Today the Sisters' network of programs reaches out to new immigrants and refugees and those who are sick\, homeless\, and abused--people made invisible because of their lack of resources--as well as spiritual seekers from all walks of life. The Sisters' Ministries Foundation raises funds so the Sisters can respond to the needs of our community with health care\, education\, safe housing\, spirituality\, and leadership development.\n\n\n\nSpeaker Dr. Irene O'Neill\, served as Executive Director for the Ministries Foundation from 1994 to 2010. In 2010\, she moved from executive director to her current position as the principal foundation officer for the Ministries Foundation. She now concentrates on raising awareness for the Sisters' work as well as increasing the Foundation's ability to fund their programs. Sister Irene will enlighten us about the specific problems our neighbors in the Twin Cities face and talk about effective ways to address the problems.
