King Generating Station\n\n\n\n\n\nXcel Energy invites you to tour its King plant electric generation facility which is celebrating its 50th operational anniversary in 2018.  King plant underwent a significant rehabilitation in the early 2000s as part of Xcel Energy's MERP (Metro Emissions Reduction Project).\n\n\n\nThis spring the plant will be undergoing a scheduled maintenance outage which provides guests a unique viewing opportunity of its equipment.\n\nThis plant was the model for a successful and growing peregrine falcon restoration effort\, as the first plant in the nation to place a falcon nest box on its stacks. \n\n\n\nPlease join us for lunch and a tour so that we can share with you how Xcel Energy is always delivering clean\, reliable and safe electricity along with a whole lot of community involvement.\n\nLunch Presentation AGENDA:\n\n11:15 to 11:30 -  Chamber members greeted at the security gate/directed into parking lot\n\n11:30 to 12:00 - Catered Lunch sponsored by Xcel Energy/Introductions\n\n12:00 to 12:30 -  Operations presentation by King plant director\, Randy Capra\n\n12:30 to  1:30 -  Plant tour (optional for attendees)\n\n                            Rooftop view of St. Croix River Valley (weather permitting) \n\nIMPORTANT!
