Youth Service Bureau's 2nd Annual 'Growing Together' Gala
-
Youth Service Bureau invites you to attend our 2nd Annual 'Growing Together' Gala; raising funds to improve chemical and mental health in our local schools and communities. The focus of the evening is YSB’s School Based Chemical and Mental Health services in local school districts 622, 833, and 834 and the surrounding communities. Dr. Joseph Lee of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation and Youth Continuum Medical Director will be the keynote speaker. Dr. Lee is the Author of "Recovering My Kid.” Nate Eldridge, Stillwater Area High School Senior will be our Youth Speaker, and guests will enjoy live music by Cattail Moon String Band. This event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend! ######### YSB was formed in 1976 to provide Washington County and local law enforcement with a way to hold youth accountable for their actions without sending them through the juvenile justice system. Since that time, YSB has grown to include prevention and early intervention strategies that help youth and families whether they need mental health counseling or diversion services, school based chemical health support, or education on topics like bullying, theft, anxiety, and how navigate life with a teenager. In 2017 YSB served 5,086 youth, who participated in 6,966 hours of YSB programs and activities. We served 307 youth and families through our therapy services, 326 youth through our clinical school-based services and 3,795 through our other school-based services, and 636 youth in Diversion. Ten percent of our youth received services in more than one program area. YSB reached 5281 individuals through 61 Youth and Family Education classes. Last year our Gala helped raise funds to complete our 1.1 million-dollar program and capital expansion campaign. Funds supported the addition of fully licensed therapists that serve our Cottage Grove, Stillwater and Woodbury offices, and increased our school-based services by adding Chemical Health Specialists in District 622 (North St. Paul, Maplewood and Oakdale); District 833 (South Washington County); and District 834 (Stillwater Area Schools.)
