STILLWATER, MN – The United Way of Washington County East (UWWCE) is seeking volunteers to help serve on a panel of community leaders for their upcoming Community Investment Process. Early each calendar year a group of approximately 40 volunteers are selected to help make important funding decisions on behalf of the community, area social needs, in support of agencies that are making a significant local impact.
United Way of Washington County East’s Vision is: A caring, engaged and vibrant community, a place where each person has a stable foundation for today, and a hopeful future. Their Mission is: to unite our community and local resources to give each person the opportunity to build a better life.
At the heart of United Way’s mission is a partnership with local volunteers. These Community Investment Process volunteers are a part of an important strategic business structure because they make funding recommendations to support agencies in the area. Volunteer groups will meet on March 13th from 5-8PM followed by a second meeting on April 10th from 5-8PM.
In 2017 the United Way of Washington County East granted $660,000 to 21 partnering agencies that supported programs connected with their four important focus areas:
YOUTH: Promote Thriving Children and Youth
BASIC NEEDS: Provide Basic Needs and Financial Stability
HEALTH: Improve Health and Independence
SELF-SUFFICIENCY: Support Self-Sufficiency and Connection to Services
