November 2017. Stillwater, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce celebrated the 40-year milestone anniversary of EVOLVE Adoption & Family Services at a ribbon cutting event on November 20 at their offices in Stillwater. EVOLVE leadership, staff, and area business owners attended the celebration and learned about their important work, mission and impact for the children, families and communities they serve.
“We are thrilled to be celebrating 40 years,” stated Executive Director Nicole Deters. “We have helped over 7,000 children unite with permanent loving families through foster care adoption, domestic adoption and international adoption. We have also served over 500 individuals and families experiencing an unplanned pregnancy through pregnancy services, and we have assisted hundreds of families in foster care.”
Originally established in 1977 as HOPE Adoption & Family Services, the organization has been headquartered in Stillwater since that time. It was established by EVOLVE’s current director of communications and development, Nancy Lyner, and a small group who were frustrated with the lack of access and inclusivity for international adoption. In 2014, HOPE merged with Edina-based Crossroads Adoption Services to form EVOLVE, bringing together the two strong, child-focused organizations.
Licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin, EVOLVE Adoption & Family Services is defined by its core values to be child-focused, collaborative, inclusive, joyful, pioneering and transparent. Their vision and mission is a world where everyone has nurturing, permanent and supportive family relationships. They accomplish this by providing ethical, high quality adoption and foster care programs, pregnancy services, child-focused recruitment, family support and therapeutic services.
EVOLVE will soon launch the Foundation for the Future capital and capacity building campaign to raise money to renovate and update their existing building, develop additional therapeutic and family programs, and provide additional foster care services in the eastern metro area.
