Chamber Celebrates 10 Year Anniversary of Lowe’s Home Improvement

December 2017. Oak Park Heights, MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce celebrated the ten year anniversary of the Oak Park Heights Lowe’s Home Improvement store on December 13 at a ribbon-cutting event. Lowe’s team members, store leadership and Chamber Ambassadors attended the celebration event.

Lowe’s is a home improvement retailer that finds building solutions for both business and retail customers. Established in 1946, Lowe’s employs over 290,000 employees at more than 2,370 stores in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. They offer thirteen product categories ranging from appliances and tools to paint, lumber and nursery products. They are committed to helping customers find solutions to their home improvement projects and help customers love where they live.

Part of the Lowe’s corporate culture is in giving back to their communities, and in 2016 Lowe’s and Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation contributed more than $35 million in those communities. 100% of their stores in the United States also participated in the Lowe’s Heroes volunteer program, logging more than 80,000 volunteer hours in 2016.

The Oak Park Heights store employs 135 people, and they are very involved in community support. “In addition to the Lowe’s Heroes program, our Oak Park Heights team also supports Habitat for Humanity Women’s Build, Rebuilding Together, and Boys and Girls Clubs.” stated store Manager, Carolyn Diaz. “It’s great to work for a large company that really believes in giving and encourages our team to get involved in the community!”
