July 2017, Stillwater MN. The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce celebrated two milestone anniversaries with the Candyland store in downtown Stillwater on July 24 with a ribbon cutting. Manager & Owner, Brandon Lamb and some of his team joined Chamber Ambassadors and other business owners to celebrate.

Flavo Korn Shop opened in St. Paul in 1932 selling just popcorn and fudge. In 1950, owner Arnie Kelsey added candies and chocolates and renamed the store Candyland. In 1981 Arnie sold the store to Doug and Brenda Lamb. Doug had been an employee since the age of 17 and was excited to own the shop and take it to new levels. The Husband and wife duo immediately copyrighted the now world-famous “Chicago Mix®” popcorn and has grown the business to four locations: one in St. Paul, two in Minneapolis, and one in Stillwater.

“We are thrilled to be celebrating 5 years for our Stillwater store, and 85 years Candyland as a
whole!” stated Stillwater Manager, Brandon Lamb. “We have an exciting announcement to make: we are having a custom made food trailer built which will enable us to take Candyland on the road and actually cook the popcorn in the trailer!” Brandon anticipates the new truck will be completed by this fall. He is considering an online contest to name the new food truck. “Like our Facebook page for details on the contest! @Candyland1932. We are very community-based and want input from our customers on what to name this exciting new addition!”

Candyland offers an incredible selection of popcorn, made with 100% natural ingredients, air popped and cooked in copper kettles on site, as well as made from scratch hand dipped chocolates, hundreds of top-quality varieties of old-fashioned, classic candies, jellies and sours, brittles and barks, licorice and other treats from the finest makers in the country. Their popular popcorn tins come in many sizes and they offer a variety of sweet and salty custom packages and options for weddings and parties including their candy/popcorn buffet.

Very generous community members, the Lamb family supports many local causes with donations from all of their stores. To celebrate their 85 year milestone anniversary, all Candyland stores will be offering their small sized bag of most types of popcorn for just 85 cents all day on August 10. They welcome all to stop in and enjoy.
