Great Harvest Bread and Valley Outreach partner: $2 donated for every Honey Bunny adopted!
Hundreds of made-from-scratch Honey Bunnies seek loving homes. Valley Outreach earns $2 for every Honey Bunny adopted this year!
Stillwater, MN, 04/03/2017 – Hundreds of adorable, made-from-scratch Honey Bunnies will be featured at Stillwater’s Great Harvest leading up to Easter. For every honey bunny sold, two dollars will be donated to Valley Outreach in Stillwater. These Honey Bunnies are perfect for Easter table centerpieces, for gifts, or to nestle into children’s Easter baskets.
“Valley Outreach does an amazing job providing essential nutrition for our community. It’s something we’re passionate about as well, and we have a long history of helping out. Not everyone knows it, but almost none of our bread goes into the trash, instead, our day-old breads are redistributed by Valley Outreach to those who need it. The Honey Bunny project is an extension of how we already work together,” says Bob Fleischman, Great Harvest owner. “For our customers, this is a great way to be involved with an organization that benefits so many needy families in our community while taking home something that your own family will love!” “Honey Bunnies are a Great Harvest tradition, and our Valley Outreach volunteers are really excited to work with the folks at Great Harvest to make, bake, and distribute Honey Bunnies to help our mission,” says Tracy Maki, executive director for Valley Outreach. “The first volunteer shifts to fill up were for the 4 am slots! Can you believe it? Our volunteers are the best and truly committed to helping feed St. Croix Valley families. We’re all pretty excited.”
According to Bob Fleischman, no two bunnies are quite the same. The bakers at Great Harvest – with the help of Valley Outreach volunteers — will handcraft each bunny, using the bakery’s well-known Honey Whole Wheat dough.
Like all Great Harvest products, these bunnies are so fresh there’s no need for additives, preservatives or dough conditioners. The kneaders and bakers of Great Harvest create the bunnies using five simple ingredients – freshly ground whole-wheat flour, honey, yeast, water, and salt. The bakery anticipates creating hundreds of Honey Bunnies, and is taking pre-orders by calling 651-351-0311.
In addition to Honey Bunnies, the bakery is featuring Hot Cross Buns – perfect for brunch or as a light dessert. The bakery will also feature its popular dinner rolls and a variety of other sweet and savory items.
Great Harvest in Stillwater is owned and managed by longtime Lake Elmo residents, Bob & Natasha Fleischman. Our amazing crew is dedicated to handcrafting breads – from scratch each day – with wheat that we mill right in our bakery. Our wheat is grown and sourced from family-owned farms, and we never use preservatives or unnecessary chemicals in our breads or goodies. Incredible flavor, freshness, and nutrition make our breads the perfect choice for your family, and we use it in every sandwich we make at the bakery as well.
