March 31, 2017 – The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce organized a successful second annual Community Showcase brought to the public by Eckberg Lammers, P.C. The event took place Saturday March 25 at Stillwater Area High School.  Approximately 1500 local residents attended the event and 110 organizations exhibited.

The purpose of the event was to bridge business and community. “If you want the luxury of having great resources in your backyard, you have to use them!” Stated Chamber Director Robin Anthony. “We are very pleased at the many connections and introductions that were made during the Showcase with both businesses to residents, and businesses to other businesses”.

Entertainment on two stages included multiple music groups from Vallee de Croix Chorus, to local bands 40 Below and Afton. Other forms of entertainment were a draw for families including magicians Magic Norm, and The Honest Magician, as well as dance from Curio Dance, and Belle Ballet. The event also had a K-9 demo from Bayport Police, a presentation from Kelli Kaufer on hot home designs, and a live radio drama presented by The Shire. Rounding out the entertainment were pianists Louis Oesterreich and Julie Ward.

The new Big Toy and Vehicle Display was popular with young families and included a camper, boat, police car, fire truck and monster truck. Also popular among young families was the face painting, balloon artist, bouncy house, photo booth, giant chess set, and art activity.

With the success of the 2nd annual Community Showcase, the Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce plans next year’s event for Saturday April 7, 2018.
