STILLWATER, MN – The Greater Stillwater Chamber of Commerce celebrated the expansion and new location of Sara’s Tipsy Pies on January 30th in Stillwater. Owner Sara Hayden’s family, friends, community partners and Chamber representatives attended the celebration which included a delicious sampling of pies. Sara is a strong believer in partnering locally. “We believe the more we can collaborate with other local businesses the better off we all are. All of the alcohol we use is from local businesses” she stated.
Initially launched in 2011, Sara’s Tipsy Pies has steadily grown from Sara’s kitchen, to the Marine on St. Croix General Store kitchen, and recently to her own commercial kitchen conveniently located just north of Route 36 in Stillwater on Industrial Boulevard.
Her success over these past six years is about her unique product. “My mom taught me to bake, and every Tipsy Pie features her hand-rolled crust, the best I’ve ever tasted. But for my filling, I went where a good Lutheran church lady never would: to the liquor cabinet! A splash of local alcohol takes pie to a whole new level, while giving a lift to homegrown businesses”.
Sara will be a MN State Fair Vendor in the food building for the third year in 2017, and her pies can also be found in 80 local grocery stores in the freezer section, including Kowalski’s, Lunds, Byerlys, and Brine’s Market. She also provides pies for weddings, corporate catering and events. She will soon be launching a number of new, savory pies, and her best selling pies are Irish Pecan, Irish Apple Salted Caramel as well as Boozy Blueberry.
Production days are Mon through Wed, 9-3:30. Order pick-ups are by appointment only, and Walk ups are welcome for Frozen Pies only.
